ORIGINAL VS. ADAPTABLE

The machine you’ve bought, whether German, American, Japanese, etc., is made up of parts manufactured by hundreds of other companies. All manufacturers use independent companies to design and manufacture the various components that make up your machine. So what does this mean for you, the consumer?

What is an original part?

An original part is a part that was originally installed in your machine when it was new and bears the manufacturer’s logo. This doesn’t mean that the product is actually made by the manufacturer – it’s often made by a different company – but the manufacturer’s logo is added. These are the most expensive parts, because you’re paying for the manufacturer’s logo.

What is an adaptable part?

An adaptable part is a part manufactured by a company, or even the same company that manufactured the original product for the manufacturer. It’s exactly the same part that’s in your machine, except it doesn’t have the brand logo. These parts are identical to the original, but cheaper because you don’t pay for the privilege of having the manufacturer’s logo.
